I AM Learning (Revised from 2013)

 

Alone? No and Never!
       We are all One
        and always connected.
        We stand with each other as
        sisters,
        brothers,
        siblings,
        in this truth that we call
        "Love!"

Yes, we grow in understanding 
​       and unite when
       you and I strive
       to navigate
       this path of beauty,
       this path of love.

Because of this path
      that we are traveling together,
      we smile, laugh,
      celebrate
      and create ritual.


We cry and heal and console
       each other as we live
       and die
       with and in our human condition,

Yet seeking somehow to unite our spirits
     and understand this god
     and/or
     goddess nature that 
     amazes,
     enthralls
     and inspires us.

 That Be-ing,
​      who is beyond all of our
      limited imaginings... 
      better called, at least for me
     "The Mystery."

The amazing mysterious
     Artista-Científica
     that created
     All of This!
     All that we see with our eyes 
     and
     all those things we need
      microscopes and telescopes to see. 

The One that we see and are embraced by 
      when our hearts are wide open
      and
      who we know to be true
      when our eyes are closed tight
      or a washed with tears.

This One who surpasses the pain
     of our terminal flesh and bones
     and
​     fills them with exuberant joy despite of it.

This Artist /Scientist is who
    we are collectively.  
    As we awaken to our dream
    come true
    our understanding vastly expands and I begin to realize

That I Am you
     and you also begin
     to understand
     that you are me. 

Your love is my love,
     your pain is my pain.
     And so with this understanding,
     I pray
     May you always find happiness
     and be forever blessed
     because I am learning
     however  slowly 
     to deeply love
     and understand
     who you are
     and therefore
     who I am.
